Timidly and hesitatingly
I read The World as Will and Representation when I was in high school. And I instantly turned into a big fan of Arthur Schopenhauer’s work. This has not changed since.
Recently, I stumbled across a doodle I probably sketched during some boring lecture. A carnivorous plant glancing the world for the first time. This reminded me of a passage, where the German thinker quotes a moving paragraph by Augustine.
Schopenhauer once wrote that one must never read summaries of the works of philosophers because they are unreliable. In this spirit, I will avoid paraphrasing the German or – much less – the Saint.
You will find here – if you are interested – the soulful page that inspired my design.
