Soundtrack for a play that has never happened
“At first it was only music. Two organ lines drew a treeless horizon, and they were running. Children in the cool air. All around a thousand numb wings whirled in the wind as pairs of gloved hands of woman. The air was full of incomprehensible gestures, hidden behind the gray, white and orange velvet of the liveries. In the distance, after the ultimate wavy horizon, unrolled the ocean. A crumpled tablecloth with a few crumbs on it. A fishing vessel, two gull chicks.”
“All’inizio era soltanto musica. Due linee d’organo disegnavano un orizzonte senza alberi, e si rincorrevano. Bambini nell’aria fredda. Tutt’intorno mille ali intirizzite frullavano nel vento come paia di mani guantate di donna. L’aria era piena di gesti incomprensibili, celati dietro al velluto grigio, bianco e arancio delle livree. In fondo, oltre l’ennesimo orizzonte ondulato si srotolava l’oceano. Una tovaglia stropicciata con sopra poche briciole: un peschereccio, due pulcini di gabbiano.”
